About The Game
In this game I was initially intending on making my character jump. However when playing around with my movement vectors I managed to make the character slow down. So I made this the gimmick of the game instead. I then wanted him to be able to dodge some sort of dynamic object to make the game more interesting so I used this tutorial:
This tutorial showed me how to send an object to another object and then get it to return which created a loop for the boulders in my game. I then wanted to make it so that my player would be reset to the start position when he got to the end of the run and so I used another tutorial:
And in this he explained that similar to platform movement, you create an empty object as a reference point. So I created a reference point for spawn and an invisible object and the end of the run called "finish". But after this I figured I could apply this spawn reset if the player hit one of the obstacles so I then added that feature instead as well. In terms of the visual assets , most were made in photoshop , however for some of the external colliders I used the "Pixel Adventure" asset pack on the unity store mainly so I could get used to tile mapping as it was a fairly new concept to me. However everything else was made by me in photoshop.
